Time-based discounts for lawn care and pest control companies

Time-based discounts

In addition to location-based discounts, time-based discounts are also very effective.

A proper time-based discount can induce FOMO in potential clients.

Fear of missing out works — that is why it is so often used in marketing campaigns.

Rather than giving broad discounts for services — look at setting expiration dates when building out your discount strategy. 

For example, rather than giving a 5% discount for any customer that pre-pays for the year-only give a 5% discount to those who pre-pay before April 1st.

Additionally, you can offer neighborhood discounts that only apply till the end of any given month to onboard more customers in a given area. Discounts that are only available for 24hrs can be just the nudge that potential clients need in order to sign up. These can be super effective and also lead to more sales. 

Time-based discounts, in combination with location-based discounts on a neighborhood level or a route level (see part 3 of this series), is a powerful lever for route density. And with route density will come higher company profits.
